Halloween Pictures

I had my kids pictures taken in their halloween costumes. I haven't gotten them back yet but you can see some of them at http://shandaleigh.com/blog/. I think they turned out great. As soon as I get the rest I will post more;.

Fishing

Over Columbus day Scott took the family fishing. We went to Strawberry and had a pretty good time. Well, we started out having a good time and then the winds started. The kids each caught a fish and we had caught a trap full of crayfish. But when the wind started out little fishing boat was no match for the huge waves. We were of course on the oppisite side of the lake from the lodge and we could not get back. We ended up finding a little cove with another boat of fisherman, getting on shore and building a fire to keep the kids warm while we waited for the wind to calm down. It took about an hour, then we tried it again, we finally made it across but it was so bumpy and we were soaking wet and freezing by the time we got back to the dock. Logan was convinced that we were going to die.

That night we stayed at the lodge and the next morning the lake was as smooth as ice. So we went back out again, mostly to make sure we hadn't tramatized the kids. Logan and I both caught a fish and the kida again liked the boat and the water.

Black Island Farms

I am luckliy enough to have 2 great friends from college (Monica & Lisa) who love me enough to stay in touch and still get together when ever we can. The first weekend in October we had one of our get togethers and went to Black Island Farms in Syracus. Our kids loved it and we had a blast watching them. We still thing it is strange that we are all married with kids, how things have changed. But we love it.

The kids got their faces painted, slid down insane slides made of hay, pipes, and plastic sheeting, rode on a train made from old water jugs, watched pig races, went through a corn maze, and rode a hay wagon to a pumpkin patch and got to pick a pumpkin. WoW!!

Here we are on the way to the pumpkin patch.

Here is Monica with Colt, 2

This is Lisa with Karmen, 6 and Ava, 3

Aubrey throwing a fit in the middle of the pumpkin patch, She is the little yellow dot in the middle of the field. If a picture had sound you would hear her crying.

Logan with his final pumpkin selection. I swear every time he turned around he saw a bigger pumpkin and he wanted the biggest.

Logan's Cowboy Day at School

Logan had Cowboy day at school on Friday (September 25th). He got to dress up like a cowboy, they had a program where each class sang a song (Logan's class sang "Home on the Range") and then they did a combined class dance. It was super fun to watch. Then after the parents left they had a pretend fire and pretend to roast marshmallow, then for snack they had a "Chuck Wagon Breakfast" of pancakes with juice. This was Logan's favorite part of the entire day.

I have attached a video of his song and I hope it works because I have never done this before. But my mom will kill me if I don't try.

First day of fall

As most of you know Fall is my favorite time of year. So this year me and some friends (Barbra, Ivy & Angie) had a first day of Fall celebration. We started the day by taking the kids to a local orchard and did some apple picking. We ended up with apples, peaches, pears, and a baby watermelon that is as big as an apple (you pick it, you buy it and Logan picked it).

Then later that night we all got back together and had a bon-fire. We roasted marshmallows, and we all brought a fall treat. The kids ran around crazy and we let them throw leaves in the fire and they would say "Thank you for the fall". Cheezy but fun. And of course that night we were having so much fun I forgot to take pictures.

A great day at the fair!!

The fair is a great tradition in our family. Everyone loves it even Scott. We had a blast this year. We went with out good friends Josh and Joy and their darling baby boy Ethan. We were there for 9 hours!!! We did everything you could think of, TWICE!

Scott, Josh & Logan all rode this bull. Scott got on and was trying to be a PBR champ and with one hand in the air was thrown off in about 2 seconds. Josh used both hands and did a lot better but Logan won them all. Logan was scared to death but still wanted to do it, so the man controlling the bull went way slow and warned Logan every time it was about to buck or change directions. He was so proud when he got off.

Best veggie there is!!!

We went on this slide about 10 times. Aubrey was so annoyed that she wasn't tall enough to go by her self.

The kids always love to ride the ponies. Logan's was named Duke and Aubrey's was named Rocky. The guy let them go for a really long time and they were still annoyed when they had to get off.
